Schedule

Overnight flight into Guatemala City. A mid-morning pre-arranged transport to will drive us 3 hours to Lake Atitlan where we explore colorful villages around the lake as we acclimate for our Acatenango hike.

We will stay in an array of accommodations, each of which boasts its own unique flavor, much like the local villages we will be exploring. Villages are reached by a lancha, a small boat, which is the main transport around Lake Atitlan. We will visita Panajachel, San Marcos La Laguna, San Pedro La Laguna, and Jaibalito. We will embark on several short hikes to assist in our acclimatation. Indian Nose, Mirador de San Pedro, Santa Cruz La Laguna and Cerro Tzankujil Reserve. This Adventure is not ONLY about hiking! Our days will be filled with flavorful cuisine, shopping local handicraft, yoga & meditation as well as cliff jumping!

After spending 5 nights exploring Lake Atitlan, we will take a private transfer back to Antigua where we will prepare for our overnight trek to Volcan Acatenango.

We will take a transfer from Antigua by our trekking company early in the morning, served breakfast by our host and begin our trek by mid-morning, reaching our cabins at Base Camp by late afternoon. Everyone will have an option to do the SUNSET hike up to Volcan Fuego before coming back to a warm and well-earned dinner. Everyone will also have an option to do a SUNRISE hike to the summit of Acatenango. This hike is do-able for ALL LEVELS of fitness. Everyone will have a choice after trekking to Base Camp (required) whether or not they want to add these two additional climbs.

Once back in Antigua we will get some R&R at a 5-Star Hotel. We will take a walking tour of the city to see amazing colorful architecture and embark on one final Adventure Activity just outside of Antigua (that doesn’t involve hiking)!
